Council Officers

      President
      Donald Nau USA  1LT Former

      Enlisted in the United States Army in 1967. He completed Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Ft Knox, KY with an MOS in Armored Combat as a "Tanker".

      He was commissioned from The Infantry Officer Candidate School at Ft Benning, GA.  Following the Basic Armor Officer's Course at Ft Knox, he was assigned as a Tank Platoon Ldr with the 2nd Battalion, 66th Armor, 2nd Armored Division at Ft Hood, TX. In August of 1969, he graduated from The Army Jungle Warfare School in Panama and then deployed to Vietnam.  He was assigned as Executive Officer for Hq Co of the 3rd IBCT, 25ID, III Corps. Subsequently, he became the Company Commander.

      Released from active duty in August 1970 with a Vietnam connected disability into the VA System, he was assigned as inactive reserve and Honorably Discharged in 1974.

      Awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal w/1st Oak Leaf Cluster for meritorious service in ground operations against hostile forces, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/2 campaign stars, Vietnam Service Medal and the Jungle Expert Badge.  He is authorized to wear the 25th ID’s Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm.

      Don is Immediate Past President/Treasurer of The Old Capitol Area Chapter/MOAA, Life Member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), member of The American Legion and Former Director of The Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association.  He has received the National MOAA Leadership Award.

      He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He earned a certificate of completion for an Executive Program from The Darden Graduate School of The University of Virginia.  He held a license in Financial Securities and was a member of The National Association of Securities Dealers (NASDAQ).

      Personal:  Married to Elaine who attended Boise State University and retired after 24 years with a defense contractor who produced systems for ship or submarine-to-air Tomahawk missiles (VLS).
