This is a 'last call' for dinner reservations for the MOAA monthly meeting.  If you have responded already and received a response from me, no action is required.  If not and you're planning to come, RSVP now. 

The June 2024 Kings Bay MOAA Chapter meeting will be on Tuesday, 18 June at The Club at Osprey Cove. The social hour will start at 5:30 followed by the meeting and dinner at 6:30.  

The menu for this meeting is your choice of Chicken Kiev (Lightly Breaded, Stuffed with Butter and Herbs) or Salmon Kiev (Lightly Breaded, Stuffed with Butter and Herbs). Both will be served with Red Skinned Mashed Potatoes, Sauteed Green Beans, garden salad, rolls and

Chocolate Pots De Creme for dessert.

The cost of the meal is $30 per person. Payment can be made at the door with credit card, cash or check.

The meeting speaker will be Dr. Joshua Howard, Movement to get Okefenokee declared a World Heritage Site. His bio is below:

Josh Howard is the President of the Friends of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and has spent his entire life connected to Okefenokee in one form or another. He has paddled, fished, and explored it from his earliest days and has worked for the USFWS as a Forestry Aide and Wildland Firefighter in the 1990’s. Since then, he has become an advocate for and part-time scholar of the swamp, collecting and studying every scholarly paper, article, book, report, and post he can find. Professionally, Dr. Howard is in his 29 th year with the Charlton County School System, where he currently serves as the Director of CTAE and Alternative Education. He started his career in 1996 as a biology teacher and has served as an administrator for the past 23 years. He holds a BS in Biology from Georgia Southern University and Masters and Doctorate degrees in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University.
