This month we are one step closer to returning to what was our "normal" meeting! The Club at Osprey is still closed; however, the management is allowing us to use the Osprey River Club. The River Club does not have a kitchen or bar so the dinner will be catered by Brimely's again and you will need to bring your own beverages - adult or otherwise. Dinner does include bottled water, lemonade or sweet tea, but if you want anything other than that you will need to bring your own. There will be plastic cups and ice.

Our February meeting will be on Tuesday, February 17th at the Osprey River Club. In addition to the regular business session and speaker, the chapter officers for 2026 will be sworn in. Note that the position of secretary and the person doing this job are still vacant.

The social hour will start at 5:30 (again this is BYOB) followed by the meeting and dinner at 6:30. The cost of the meal is $30 per person. Payment can be made at the door with credit card, cash or check.

Dues for 2026 may also be paid at the door. Dues this year are $35. For the first time since the chapter was formed we have had to raise the dues in order to cover things such as the increased cost of paying for our speaker's meals and administrative costs. Your dues also help fund the various military related organizations we support annually.

Dinner will be a buffet with a choice of Chicken Parmesan, Italian Sausage with peppers and onions and Baked Ziti. There will be a garden salad, seasoned green beans and dinner rolls. Dessert is cake and cookies.

The speaker for this meeting is Jeremy Adam Nascimento. Jeremy was elected to Post 4 on the St Mary’s city council in November of 2024. Jeremy graduated from Abeka Christian Academy and got his Cosmetology license at 17 and began working for his uncle as a hairstylist in Hartford, Connecticut. He competed in several Hairdressing World Championships and reached a top ranking of 5th in the world and 1st in North and South America. Mr. Nascimento was featured in the PBS documentary, HAIR WORLD: the pursuit of excellence, capturing the USA team as they travelled to Russia for the Hair World Championships. Jeremy married Cristen Dixon from St. Marys Georgia in 2007 and has now lived in Camden county for 18 years with his wife and three children, Ava, Canon, and Castle. Jeremy and Cristen are the owners of Headline Hair Designs. The Nascimento family are all active members of Camden Baptist Church where they serve in St. Marys under the leadership of Pastor Edward Dixon.
